Owner, head groomer and the quiet, patient force behind Dogs of the North — established in Northcote for over 10 years.
Dogs of the North is a calm, one-on-one home grooming salon, established for over 10 years, built around a simple philosophy: gentle, caring and professional grooming at the dog's pace.
I work with only one dog at a time, with no client crossover, allowing each dog — particularly those who are anxious, ageing or have additional needs — to feel safe, unhurried and respected. My grooming sessions take longer than average by design, because comfort and trust matter more than speed.
Senior Snifaries grew naturally from this same approach. As dogs age, their needs change, and so should the way we care for them. Senior Snifaries offers gentle, one-on-one enrichment walks designed specifically for older dogs, focusing on slow movement, sniffing, confidence and well-being rather than distance or pace.
Whether grooming or walking, the goal of Dogs of the North is always the same: to meet dogs where they are, and support them with patience, understanding and kindness.
Modern, climate-controlled home salon — warm in winter, cool in summer, always comfortable for your dog.
Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac off Westgarth St, Northcote — no traffic noise, easy parking.
Signature electric 'lift' bath: the tub raises and lowers so dogs of all ages and sizes step in and out with ease — no jumping, no strain.
Certified organic, plant-extract shampoos and conditioners — soap-free, 100% biodegradable, tearless and gentle on the most sensitive skin.
The lime-green feature wall and white Westie-face mural — Gracie's home, and the heart of the brand.
Our resident Westie, Gracie, is proof that good things really do come in small packages. She lives in the salon, keeps the energy calm, and holds up the mural single-handedly. The white Westie-face silhouette at the heart of the Dogs of the North logo? That's Gracie.
