The Dogs of the North salon — Gracie in the signature electric lift bath, green panelled wall behind, showing the calm, one-on-one grooming environment
The approach

Grooming at the dog's pace.

Susie Rosetzky is the owner and head groomer — and the only person who ever works on your dog. There is no junior, no assistant, no handoff. One dog, one groomer, one appointment.

Every groom begins with a nose-to-tail assessment: coat condition, skin health, any matting or sensitivity, and what your dog is comfortable with that day. The actual groom — bath and blow-dry through to scissor work and styling — unfolds at the dog's pace, with playtime breaks woven in as needed.

Certified organic products

Every bath uses certified organic plant extracts and essential oils — soap-free, 100% biodegradable, tearless, and gentle on even the most sensitive skin. Kind to dogs, kind to the environment.

The electric 'lift' bath

The signature stainless-steel bath rises and lowers on a scissor-lift mechanism, so dogs of every age and size step in and out at floor level. No jumping, no lifting, no strain on joints. Particularly valued by owners of elderly, arthritic or post-operative dogs.

Climate-controlled comfort

The salon at 31 Green St is modern and fully climate-controlled — warm in winter, cool in summer — so your dog's comfort is never compromised by the weather outside.

No client crossover

Your dog is the only dog in the salon during their appointment. No barking from neighbouring kennels, no waiting room anxiety, no rushing to fit in the next client.

The signature bath

The electric lift bath.

The salon's signature piece of equipment: a stainless-steel bath mounted on a scissor-lift mechanism. It lowers to floor level so your dog walks straight in — no ramp, no lift, no strain.

This is particularly important for older dogs, dogs recovering from surgery, and larger breeds who can't be easily lifted. The bath makes entry and exit easy for dogs of all ages and sizes.

No set price list — by design.

Every dog is different. A nose-to-tail assessment at the start of each appointment determines the exact scope of the groom — coat condition, matting, sensitivity, what the dog needs that day. Susie quotes individually, after that assessment, so you're never paying for services your dog doesn't need.
